M&E Estates Manager

This is a job opportunity within Government (Defence) as an M&E Estates Manager.

You will be in a key role taking on duties as below, this is also an excellent networking opportunity for someone wanting to develop further in the organisation.

Duties

Technical:

Duties will include leading on M&E issues in the area, providing technical advice and support to all staff including SEATs and if necessary other regional personnel; including specialist training, briefings, resolving escalated technical issues and interface with the regional technical team.

Understanding the estate and customer operations in own area of responsibility:

Taking into account customer requirements and their priorities when supporting the development of the delivery programmes. Pro-active support to customer’s operational outputs and requirements.

Providing support to the A Hd EM (Ops) for the coordination of EM activities and

carrying out planning with the IP as directed. Providing linkage with other MoD projects and de-conflicting competing priorities.

Compliance and Improvement:

Working collaboratively with the IP to review performance, identifying opportunities for improvement; Undertaking compliance audits in accordance with policy and direction, providing assurance of efficient and effective delivery of contracted services; Interfacing with and supporting the regional Contract Management team.

Project Management:

Supporting the planning and delivery of minor new works and major maintenance tasks, acting as the project manager for delegated works.

Leading:

Managing any persons placed under their control ensuring staff provide a proactive approach to customer management, including line management/countersigning duties

Skills Required

Extensive experience with M&E including on the management side; this experience must also be from working on large sites.

In order to provide the required level of M&E advice and assurance post holders should

have a recognised technical M&E qualification at degree or equivalent level and/or recognised

incorporated membership (or greater) of a relevant chartered institution.

You must also be able to effectively managing the delivery of estate services and contracts, provision of written evidence-based reports, manage whole life cost modelling, value management, engineering and can work as part of a collaborative team.
