Materials Coordinator Planning Assistant

A Materials Coordinator / Planning Assistant is required to join a large electronics manufacturer on a 4 month fixed term contract basis based in the Newbury area

The Materials Coordinator / Planning Assistant will be required to assist the Materials Planner and Production planner with database management, inventory control, and purchasing of products.

The Materials Controller / Planning Assistant will ideally have worked in a manufacturing environment previously and have a good knowledge of either ERP or MRP Systems or database management.

Materials Coordinator / Planning Assistant Position Overview

To become responsible for the planning and control of purchased items as determined by Planner Code.
To appraise computer generated reports and schedules and authorise the actions there from and instigate the purchase of items by use of the requisition system such that an economic balance of stock is maintained and available.
To assist monitoring unplanned issues from stock and to take appropriate action to minimise any adverse effect on production output and other demands.
To inform the Purchasing Department of any orders which need to be rescheduled or cancelled due to changes in demand and to instigate re-sourcing as required.
To raise discrete jobs, MRP planned order reports and MRP Planner workbench ensuring that batch sizes are kept small, in line with the company’s planning policy.Materials Coordinator / Planning Assistant Position Requirements

Knowledge of electronic ERP/MRP Planning systems
Knowledge of MFG Pro and/or Oracle desirable
Previous background in Manufacturing environment
Strong organisational skills
Excellent I.T skills

£20000 – £22000 (Pro Rata)
