A superb opportunity has arisen with an International manufacturing organisation for a Material Planner to join a busy logistics team.

DUTIES:

Reporting directly into the Logistics manager
Managing a portfolio of 20+ suppliers to ensure 100% support of customer requirements and minimal cost
Receive requirements/ analyse and send daily schedule to suppliers
Ensure stock available for production
Check stock accuracy
Reducing working capital
Maintain on time deliveries in full to the customers
Scheduling and controlling flow of materials from the point of order to the point of use within agreed production, transport and inventory plans/targets.
Ensure 100% on time delivery of all materials to point of use.
Maintain and develop vendor call in system
Support new project implementation
Support engineering change and NPI process.
Develop processes and systems in line with TS16949, ISO14001,QOS and other company targets and initiatives.
Monitoring and reporting supplier performance measures.
Active support of cost reduction activities.
Perform with minimal costs of premium freight
Maintain stock accuracy in SAP and W.M.S
Resolution of supplier delivery discrepancies
Introduction of lean principles into the role
Weekly report on stock holding
Maintain Inventory levels within agreed company targets
Develop and maintain good relationships within the supply chain.

REQUIREMENTS

A Good standard of Education is preferred
Experience of Material Planning within a manufacturing environment, preferably fast paced, though not essential
Strong IT skills, SAP a bonus, though not essential
To have the ability to work well under pressure, within tight time restraints
A flexible approach
High energy level
Ambitious and keen to succeed
To have the ability to react quickly
