British Red Cross has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Executive to join their team based in Salford Quays. The successful candidate will receive a competitive Salary: £26,000 – £30,697per year.

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies.

We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over we help them to recover and move on with their lives. Within the UK, the Red Cross operates through over 30,000 volunteers and about 3,000 staff.

Our services in the community are funded through a range of income generation activities. One such activity is the Red Cross Training (RCT) business, which annually trains over 110,000 people in first aid and related skills either at our training venues or in their own companies around the UK. Not only is the provision of a safe working environment a legal requirement for employers, it can also boost efficiency, save money and provide employees with highly motivational life skill. We are also developing our public first aid training channel to focus first aid skills and building resilience throughout the UK population. This is an exciting time for RCT as we continually develop our business to meet the expanding market for first aid and health and safety related products and services.

As the Marketing and Communications Executive you will provide integrated marketing and communications across first aid training campaigns for the general public, in particular first aid for baby and child and first aid for adults. You will work as part of the marketing team in the implementation of specific marketing plans, which support business growth and achievement of first aid training targets.

The Marketing and Communications Executive duties and key responsibilities:

– With the direction and support of the B2C Campaign Manager and in close collaboration with the UK Office marketing teams, help devise and implement communication strategies to promote public first aid training.
– To work with the Digital Manager and Digital Executive responsible for public training online campaigns, affiliate partners and social media strategy to plan and support the digital communications plan
– Proactively work with the Digital Executive to agree and produce content for public first aid newsletters, engaging with prospect and customer database to achieve business growth through retention and recruitment of public customer base
– Work with other territory communication teams and UK Office to actively source and develop first aid stories, case studies and testimonials for use in media activity to raise the profile of public first aid through PR channels
– Maintain and develop public training exhibitions and events, to achieve awareness and increase business growth. Where required, to attend British Red Cross exhibitions and events to promote public first aid training
– Work closely with the Key Accounts team on strategic commercial partnership opportunities to support internal and external communications to proactively help generate business growth in line with BRC brand guidelines
– Manage varying projects as required by the B2C Campaign Manager.
– Produce and execute measurable marketing campaigns in support of achieving business growth and profit in line with BRC brand guidelines
– Develop up-to-date and accurate awareness of competitor behaviour and recommend appropriate marketing activity to respond accordingly to market trends
– Contribute to the annual marketing plan to support business growth
– Responsible for the day-to-day management of workflow and areas of responsibility. Deliver on varying projects and reports in a planned and timely manner; ensure the highest standard of communications is delivered
– Give recommendations for improvement all aspects of our marketing activity, both on and offline
– Undertake any other duties as required by the your manager or in line with RCT objectives
– Ensure a safe working environment enforcing best practice in accordance with Health and Safety Policy
– Uphold the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and to work within the Society’s Equal Opportunities Policy
Our ideal Marketing and Communications Executive will have the below skills and experience:
– Qualified to degree level or equivalent
– Recognised professional marketing qualification
– Experience of providing a range of marketing techniques supporting multi sales channels web, call centre and corporate sales
– Experience of drafting reports, communication plan and press releases
– Experience of successfully managing projects
– Experience of producing high quality presentations
– Successful execution of campaign management driving volume sales to call centre and web
