My client are a manufacturer of bespoke machined parts for key customers in the Aerospace Industry. They operate across several sites in the UK, have a group turnover of £30 million and have ambitious growth plans to become a £100 million company in the next five years.
The company has an excellent reputation with its customers, a great order book and a great working culture.
The Leicester site manufactures milled and turned aerospace components with a head count of 100 for the site. Due to an internal promotion they are looking to recruit for a Manufacturing Manager with immediate effect. This position will begin with the management of day to day Production and in could time could become responsible for both Production and Engineering Management.

The Role
As Manufacturing Manager you will be responsible for:
* Daily allocation of work and staff to ensure all jobs go through the shop floor to hit required production figures. The company makes in the region of 500 parts a week that are small batch and bespoke in nature.
* Management of a shop floor team of 50 machinists.
* Application of continuous improvement tools in production (i.e 5S/SMED) to find ways for the company to improve their manufacturing efficiency.
* Reviewing previous day’s production and addressing and solving any problems from the previous day’s work.
* Attending meetings for non-confirming parts produced.
* In time you could be responsible for the engineering area of the business as well as production. The client is open to seeing people who are also happy to focus only on Production Management.
* Ensuring all health and safety standards are adhered to on the shop floor.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Manufacturing Manager vacancy you will need:
* Experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager within a machining or machine shop environment.
* A great leader who enjoys inspiring others.
* A strong organiser.
