Manufacturing Engineer (Test Bias)

My client is a world leader in the integration of cutting-edge defence and security systems for military, government and civil customers. The company prides themselves on a culture of innovation and team work which helps them to succeed. Due to further growth, the company are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with some test process experience to join their land systems team and work on Specialist Vehicle programmes.

The role will involve providing Manufacturing support at all parts of projects lifecycles ensuring DFM, DFT and DTC principles are applied to improve quality and cost. You will ensure all appropriate facilities are in place, liaise with the supply chain and carry out manufacturing readiness level assessments. You will also need to generate Final Acceptance Test documentation Support all bid activities and drive Lean initiatives and continuous improvement for the company. The role will involve some travel as you may need to support production in other sites.

To be suitable for the Manufacturing Engineer role you will need Degree or HNC in a relevant subject with Manufacturing Engineering experience covering mechanical/electrical assemblies. You will also need proven experience of introducing Lean Manufacturing techniques or Kaizen as well as working knowledge MRP systems. It would help to have knowledge and procurement of tooling and fabrication activities as well as experience of welded structures and CAD tools.
