We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer based in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

This is going to be a permanent position paying £42,000 – £48,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

If successful you will be responsible for:
– Managing change where required for product improvement, cost reduction or obsolescence avoidance.
– Carrying out process audits to ensure adherence to process.
– Creating new process instruction sheets and ensuring existing instructions refer to the latest product specifications
– Identify opportunities for improvement and reduced variation in the process.
– Identifying improved working methods and test systems to improve product quality.
– To provide mechanical / electronics support – specifically in fault finding, test fixture specification, purchase and maintenance.
– Improvement to production areas by use of 5S processes and best practice WIP management.
– Design and specify factory layouts and manage factory moves and changes to meet the business requirements.

Skills required:
– Previous experience within a mechanical/electrical assembly environment
– Experience Six Sigma, DFM and Lean Manufacturing methods.
– Experience of working with NPI teams to pull products into manufacture in varying volume requirements.
– You should be familiar with process capability techniques and analysis of inspection data using statistical analysis packages.
