The Company
Our client has a turnover of £400 million and have just invested £30 million into the creation of a new site to continue their growth. The company was formed over fifty years ago and are focused on food packaging for many major retailing clients. Their factory is very fast paced packaging over 1 million items per week.
The client is looking for a Maintenance Team Leader from a production or maintenance background and for people who have experience in the maintenance of automated machinery.
The Role
You will be joining a maintenance division of over 25 engineers and as a Maintenance team leader you will be required to;

Your shift will begin by receiving a handover with details of previous PPM and breakdown activity from the shift before.
*
Supervising a team of 8 people – 5 engineers and 3 technicians
*
Ensure all PPM activities created by the maintenance planner are carried out
*
Respond to breakdowns when required.
*
Allocate resources for preventive maintenance work liaising with external contractors
*
Plan engineering activities to complete preventive maintenance schedules
*
Plan improvements and repairs to time schedules
*
Reactive and planned maintenance on cutting machines and food packaging machinery.
*
The role is split around 50% hands on maintenance and 50% in the office dealing with issues in the team, writing maintenance reports and driving through ideas for continuous improvement.
The Candidate
The client is looking for a Maintenance Team Leader with:
*
Experience in the maintenance of automated production machinery.
*
Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding skills.
*
Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is ideal.
*
Experience in managing or supervising of a team of maintenance engineers.
*
Happy to work a continental shift pattern.
*
Commutable to site or willing to relocate.
*
Ideally an electrical or mechanical apprenticeship.
