Maintenance Manager

Salary: £48,000 per year

My client is a long established, successful company, supplying rock drilling equipment and contractors’ tools to a worldwide customer base.

The company operates a wide range of plant including forging presses, CNC & manual machining, heat treatment, friction welding and other operations

Job title: Maintenance Manager

Reports to: Head of Manufacturing

Directly Supervises: Maintenance Team, Maintenance Managers Assistant, and Lubrication Operator.

Overall Purpose of Role

To ensure all plant maintenance and repairs are carried out in a timely and cost-efficient manner to maximise plant availability.

Duties will include:

* Managing and supervising your team

* Perform planned maintenance

* Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns

* Fault finding / diagnostics

* Working in diverse areas i.e., forging operations, heat treatment, shot blast CNC & manual machining, friction welding and ancillary operations

* Oversee outside contractors/service engineers ensuring safe working practices

* Ensuring company complies with statutory inspections.

* Responsible for continued development and training of staff.

To be suitable for this role, you will be

* Apprentice trained

* Have mechanical engineering and electrical skills

* Have experience in a manufacturing/production environment

* Be experienced dealing with sub-contractors and suppliers.

* Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships

* Flexible attitude to working hours

* Be IT literate

* Have knowledge of computer maintenance management systems

* Have the ability to work efficiently to ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe manner

Standard hours of work

7.30am – 4pm Monday to Thursday

7.30am – 1.30pm Friday

25 days holiday plus bank holidays
