Tesco Maintenance have rapidly become one of the leading retail maintenance service providers in the UK. Today, they support over 3000 Tesco stores and 20 head office sites, across the UK. They work with their colleagues at Tesco to make sure all their sites operate properly. From development through to the opening of a store, they make sure maintenance requirements are considered and delivered to the highest operational and sustainable standards.

Position: Store Maintenance Technician
Location: Market Deeping, Lincolnshire / Werrington, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £26,000per year

The Role:
The Maintenance & Building Technician will deliver great service and standards. You will take ownership for the maintenance of your store, and complete all proactive maintenance and legal maintenance checks within your store.

You will ensure stores are in great condition and everything works for colleagues and customers, and make the right choices for customers and colleagues, operating safely and legally, and ensuring others do the same.

You will complete jobs within SLA as your training allows, or ensuring the quick movement of work to the appropriate category team or contractor, and understand store performance, and work in partnership with retail colleagues to enhance the customer shopping trip.

You will be highly visible in store, proactively providing accurate updates on outstanding work, and work with property and contractor colleagues to ensure a high standard of work and the correct use of company resources. You will also escalate challenges beyond your control to your line manager.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a third party contractor or within a retail environment, with basic food hygiene training. You will have previous maintenance experience, and proven technical qualifications or experience

You can give great service and deliver great store standards, whilst understanding the pressures and frustrations of managing a large store and take time to see, hear and recognise others.

You can share your passion and enthusiasm for delivering a great maintenance service, and manage and prioritise a busy workload making difficult decisions based on what is right for customers. You have the ability to respond to and resolve immediate problems.

You can take your safety, and the safety of others, into consideration when making all decisions. You are self-motivated fulfilling a specific store role. You have interests outside work that help give yourself energy.

You deliver and share innovative ways of solving problems. You share best practise with your colleagues, offering your line manager options on how to improve their service.

You may have experience of the following: Service Technician, Maintenance, Repairs, PPM, Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Repairs, Engineer, Retail, Supermarket, Maintenance Technician, PPM Engineer, Building Maintenance etc.
