The company
Leading manufacturer and supplier of speciality products for the food, personal care, pharmaceutical, animal care and industrial sectors.
The Role
Schedule, plan and co-ordinate customer deliveries, uk and international using the company’s fleet of14 vehicles, 3PL hauliers and manage the planning of inbound deliveries from UK and international suppliers to the company’s storage facilities and factories.
Key responsibilities
* Optimise daily, weekly and monthly delivery plans.
* Plan, schedule and process deliveries nationally and internationally of bulk, IBC and palletised refined oils / specialty products through KFG Fleet and 3rd party logistics providers
* Utilise routing and scheduling software to optimise routes to maximise efficiency and drive down costs
* Provide solutions and contingency plans for any delivery issues
* Monitor performance of 3PL providers and Freight Forwarders
* Compiling and communicating weekly / monthly KPI reports
* Manage all activities associated with returnable transit packaging (IBCs)
* Liaise with all stakeholders, Commercial, Operations and Production
* Process all relevant transport documents and dangerous goods documentation
* Importing and exporting of goods and all related customs requirements
* Process purchase orders and invoices for 3rd party suppliers
* Monitor inventory levels
* Investigate and manage Non-conformances
The candidate
* Ideally, experience of a similar role
* Ability to maintain control in a busy, fast paced working environment
* Effective at prioritising & organising own workload and able to delegate when required
* Computer skills and Excel and Microsoft office proficiency
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work across internal functions, customers and external providers
* Experience with continuous improvement
* Experience in planning and coordinating deliveries using 3rd party haulage providers (international experience an advantage)
* Experience within a multi drop logistics environment and utilisation of route planning & scheduling software packages would be advantageous
* Experience of MRP systems / Logistics systems e.g. Paragon
* Import and export experience
Hours
Monday – Friday, 9-5, 1 hour paid break
