My client, a leading 1st tier manufacturing organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Logistics Manager for their busy facility in Liverpool. This is a key role and candidates are required to have a strong SAP background and be prepared to implement SAP throughout the organisation. The ideal individual will be confident in their own abilities and be prepared to take full control of the Scheduling, Goods In / out and Production Planning functions.
Purpose of Job:
To manage logistic activities relating to the plant’s MRPII system (Manufacturing Resources Planning) consistent with the principles of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing. To manage Production planning and scheduling, customer service and deliver, Inventory planning and control, supplier scheduling, and capacity management activities.
Principle Accountabilities:
– Ensure customer satisfaction with strive to have 100% complete and on-time customer delivery performance.
– Supervise day to day activities regarding shipments forecasting, and production projecting and capacity planning activities.
– Supervise planning and scheduling of plant operations to produce products meeting customer requirements while maximizing profitability.
– Anticipate customer requirements and service activities.
– Maintain good relationships with customer
– Integral part of plant launch team with responsibility for logistics aspects
– Lead the logistics team and set objectives
– Coordinate activities with purchasing, schedulers, material handlers, traffic, and our suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of required components.
Preferred Education & Experiences to fulfil role (essential & desirable)
Qualifications –
– Candidates will be certified to degree/business engineering level or at least 5 years relevant industry experience within 1st Tier Automotive supply
– Previous experience of working within a high volume, automotive manufacturing environment, coupled with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
– Experience in a production planning SAP and MRP based system with a high number of Sku’s and work cells.
