Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Supply Desk are excited to announce that we are currently looking to recruit for a number of day to day and long term posts in the South Wales area Learning Support Assistants at Levels 1, 2 and 3 to provide support assistance within classroom environments to children with Special Educational Needs. The successful candidates will have the chance to work in a rewarding 1-1 SEN or small group SEN support roles while building a foundation of teaching skills and experience.

We are looking for LSAs with the following skills:

Ideal candidates will have experience of establishing successful learning relationships with variety of children at primary or secondary age. It is essential that you are approachable, highly organised and flexible with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

– Experience of ensuring that all children are supported in learning.
– Current knowledge of the National Curriculum would be advantageous
– Committed and enthusiastic attitude towards developing a teaching career
– Strong presence and an approachable, supportive, patient character
– Strong ability to manage behaviour of SEN children
– Ability to cater for all student ability ranges
– Experience of working with SEN children previously would be advantageous

The job of an LSA is both challenging and ever changing but very rewarding. Newly qualified teacher (NQT’s) and experienced applicants are welcome to apply for this position.
