Avanti Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a successful and growing e-commerce company who build easy to use technology. They have offices in London, Sheffield and Sunderland where you are welcome to work, but you are also welcome to work 100% from home.

They are looking for a hands on Lead Front End Developer who will enjoy leading a squad of 3 bright Web Developers, taking their e-commerce platform to the next growth phase. It is an exciting time to join with some awesome projects to lead and manage. You don’t need lots of official management experience, just the desire to be a Dev Lead with some experience of mentoring other Devs and the right attitude and drive to lead by example and manage a team.

You will lead a team of 3 Web Developers using modern technologies on the front end like React / Redux / TypeScript. It is a Serverless environment so an interest in event driven Microservices, AWS, Kafka and Kubernetes would be great. Experience with PHP / Laravel would be an advantage as in an ideal world you will be leading code reviews which includes the back end devs work so understanding and previous experience with PHP would be a bonus.

The role:

Lead a team of developers focused on delivering requirements on time and to high standards

Hands on Development using front end technologies (TypeScript, React)

Manage team following Agile and Scrum methodologies

Responsible for managing the teams’ workload and sprint performance

Ensure that the e-commerce applications deliver best in class end user experience

Lead code reviews for Front End and Back End Developers code

Required experience:

Detailed knowledge of JavaScript

Excellent HTML/CSS (SASS, SCSS)

Experience building applications using React JS

Nice to haves:

Ability to consume GraphQL APIs to power user interfaces

Ability to set development standards and performing Code Reviews

Using Styled Components or a similar CSS-in-JS library to design user interfaces

Experience of working with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience with TypeScript

Understand the process of a CI/ CD pipeline
