We have an exciting opportunity to join our Insight and Performance Excellence (IPE) team as a Lead Performance Analyst.

The IPE team sits at the heart of DWP’s Service Excellence function, working across the whole of DWP to set the strategic approach to performance measurement, driving increased actionable insight, outcome focussed measures and evidence-based decision-making.

As Lead Performance Analyst, you will be an expert in the field of operational performance and a role model driving excellence and innovation in how we measure performance, and who is sought for their expertise within Performance Analytics.

You will lead a team of analysts and work closely with a wide range of subject matter experts to design tools, set standards and lead innovation.

You will engage with senior stakeholders and decision makers at all levels across DWP to implement strategies which enabling our Service Delivery teams to measure their performance and drive continuous improvement for our customers.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Demonstrable experience of leading multiple programmes of work in parallel, managing dependencies and risks and ensuring supportive more effective performance measurement across a complex delivery landscape
  • Able to create and evolve innovative models and toolkits for performance measurement and experienced in creating a network of performance measurement frameworks across multiple projects and services, ensuring these frameworks are aligned to business needs and strategy
  • Experienced in building and maintaining a network of colleagues and contacts to achieve progress on shared objectives
  • Able to challenge assumptions and communicate effectively with senior leaders to influence future strategies while being willing to compromise if beneficial to progress
  • Extensive experience of leading, managing and developing individual data professionals, external contractors, and wider professional communities, ensuring professional standards and quality analysis needs are being met and the teams are continually learning and developing

You’ll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.

In return for your skills, we offer a competitive salary of up to £77,740 for all National locations and up to £83,957 in London.

You’ll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 27.9%.
