Laboratory Technician (18 Month FTC)

Salary: £26,000 – £28,800 per year

The Laboratory Technician (18 month FTC) will work a rotating 2 week shift pattern. Week 1 is Tuesday – Friday (12 hour days Tuesday-Thursday and a 6 hour day on Friday). Week 2 is Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Monday a 12 hour shift, Friday 8 hours and Saturday and Sunday 7 hours).

Description

The Laboratory Technician (18 month FTC) will:

• Conduct routine quantitative and qualitative inspections on raw material, in-process and final products independently, supporting more complex trials and experiments under intermediate supervision
• Accountable for ensuring compliance programs for all individual testing
• Accountable for the hold and release process of material and finished goods
• Interpret and document results of all tests into active databases and communicate results as required
• Run calibration checks, preventative maintenance tasks, and simple repair to analytical instrumentation

Profile

The successful Laboratory Technician (18 month FTC) will have:

• Secondary education
• Experience in a laboratory environment

• Food/drink/FMCG manufacturing experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals)
• Strong computer program professional knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
• Write routine reports and correspondence
