Salary: £30,000 per year
To support the testing of incoming elastomer materials into the factory including molding
samples, testing material to required standards and documenting results. Support of material development activities for long term evaluation and comparison of material properties.
Testing of production materials, Research and development compounds, bought in
materials and some finished parts.
* Milling and Molding of test samples for laboratory validation
* Carry out tests in accordance with TSS procedures, customer specifications and national standards
* To make accurate measurements using gauges, balances, microscopes, hardness meters etc
* Operate all TSS Lab Testing equipment
* Carry out ageing tests at high temperature, in fluid, in compression etc.
* To measure accurately and mix solutions for test using acids, solvents, chemicals and oils etc.
* To document test results and parameters accurately and clearly both in written form and excel etc.
* Release materials after successful completion of testing into production with correct documentation
* Rheometer testing
* Carry out age testing of materials from production
* Prioritise workload to ensure efficient throughput of testing and timely completion of tasks
* Write test reports as required documenting actions and testing that has occurred
* Other tasks and duties relating to resolving material issues as directed by Technologists / Materials Manager.
