Junior CAD Draftsman

Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialist and architectural glass products, servicing the needs of the construction industry for over 25 years. They are always looking at ways to both refine its existing product ranges and develop new products to cater for the ever evolving needs of it’s clients. They invest heavily in R&D and product testing to ensure that all products achieve the highest levels of safety and quality. Due to continual growth they are now looking to take on a Junior CAD Draftsman to drive the 3D side of the design process.

Ideally the draftsman would have previous CAD/ AutoCAD Knowledge, previous 3D design work would be a benefit, if you have previous construction experience it would also be beneficial.

Primary Duties:

The main role of the post is to generate design, manufacturing and installation drawings in compliance with estimate for approval and construction on projects. The nature of work often means that the draftsmen are working on more than one project at any given time and at times may need work additional hours if required. Progress your knowledge of AutoCAD,possibly into 3D design

Skills required:

Essential:

Previous Knowledge / use of AutoCAD up to version 2015. Good understanding of 3D software ideally Solid Edge but other packages will still be considered (SolidWorks, Inventor etc). Knowledge Microsoft office suite of programs Inc word/ excel ECT. You will need the ability to work as part of a team, whilst also being capable of self reliance if required. Attention to detail whilst working at speed.

Preferable

Knowledge of basic engineering principles and construction methods would be of benefit and you must be able to liaise with various departments/ bodies to finalise designs Inc third party engineers/ architects.
