Salary: £26,400 per year

My client is an established Supported Living Service for Individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism. People are at the heart for what they do and they support around 90 – 100 in the community.

They are an ambitious forward thinking Learning Disability organisation working with the Community Manchester. The Job Coach is a vital role which will form part of the Community Services Team assisting with the development, quality and growth of enterprise and employment opportunities in Manchester.

The Job Coach will be involved in the day-to-day activities and will be pro-active, spending time with members, staff, volunteers, employers and key stakeholders while continually promoting the values and principles of the company.

Scope of the role

The role is responsible for supporting individuals in a person-centred way in their chosen working environment. You will enable individuals to gain maximum benefit from meaningful work activities vocationally and socially and will develop and empower members to make them job ready.

You will be collaborative in your approach working with other team members to achieve employment and volunteering goals and will develop good relationships through clear communication both internally and externally.

* To fully understand and support the process of the supported employment journey for our perspective members; from sourcing new placements to arranging placements, CV development, supporting people to attend interviews and supporting those people in the workplace when a post is secured.

* Provide guidance to support people to access both part-time and full-time employment and also apprenticeships, training, work experience placements and volunteer opportunities.

* To make up and complete workplace information including any visual aids required and risk assessments as appropriate.

* Work with local organisations to help employers hire exceptional candidates.

* Carry out training and sessions for employers on the benefits of employing adults with a learning disability and autism.

* To support and supervise as necessary the member in their work placement offering support, guidance and advice according to the employer instructions and the job role. To encourage independence and help them to develop soft and hard skills.

* Ability to communicate effectively with member, families and external organisations

* Strong attention to detail and good organisation skills

* Experience in working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism

* Experience in Risk Assessments and the ability to complete accurate Care Plans
