IT Support Technician (1st Line, Mac, Windows)
£26,000Salary
Based – Chiswick, West London W4
Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm

IT / Network Support experience (Mac) preferred

Role:
The IT Technician provides day to day Support of the IT function and to the IT Administrator. It is expected that the successful applicant will possess skills that are commensurate with the role and participate in all of the activities of this small team based within a school environment. The IT Technician will be given the opportunity to demonstrate innovative and lateral thinking through their attendance at and contribution to the department.

Duties:
*Ability to advise and recommend solutions that provide enhanced and leading edge technologies to existing solutions.

Technical Knowledge
Working as a member of the IT team you will:
*Provide specialised communications and network support to the school.
*Support the following systems, applications and facilities:
1.Windows & Exchange Servers 2003/2008;
2.Microsoft environment MS Office 2003 Excel, Word, 2007, 2010;
3.Mac OS X;
4.IP Networking, VLANs etc.
5.Internal telephone systems.
*Provide infrastructure support for wired and wireless systems.
*Support internet security systems at all locations.
*Provide general support and assistance as required within the IT team.

Administrative Support
Working as a member of the Facilities department you will be required to provide administrate support as required. This will include but not be limited to:
*Issuing security passes;
*Being responsible for day to day photocopier matters;
*Providing reception cover when required;
*Any other reasonable duties as directed.

Training

*All staff must agree to take part in training deemed appropriate to meet the changing needs of the profession.

Skills & Attributes

*Good interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude to problem solving and user problems.

*Demonstrable knowledge of and practical experience in high capacity data infrastructure.

*Good communication skills and an ability to communicate with members of staff at all levels together with good written skills.

*Ability to work on own initiative and be part of a team to ensure IT service delivery.
