Overview:
They are offering a great opportunity for 2 candidates to join them in Digital & Technology Services as an IT Support Apprentice in their busy Service Desk. These posts are 12 months long, with a dedicated training path, and following successful completion of the apprenticeship a SCQF6 certification is awarded. This is a wonderful opportunity for entry level exposure to a career in IT.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as the first point of contact for users, offering guidance, technical advice, and instructions for basic IT-related problems, software applications, or hardware issues
- Addressing and resolving common IT issues and user queries promptly and efficiently
- Assessing incoming incidents, categorizing their severity or impact, and prioritizing responses
- Recording and documenting incidents or service requests accurately within our Service Management tool (TOPdesk)
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of a knowledge base by documenting solutions to commonly encountered issues
- Educating users on best practices, troubleshooting steps, and providing information on IT policies or procedures to prevent recurring issues and enhance user awareness
- Identifying issues and escalating them to higher-level support teams (second or third-line support) while providing relevant information for effective escalation and resolution
Desirable skills:
- Enthusiastic to work in a small but active team
- A good understanding of Windows PC and laptop hardware
- Familiarity with Android and Apple Mac operating systems
- A solid understanding of Office 365
- Will have a positive, cheerful attitude
- Enthusiasm for continual learning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to follow instructions well and have the ability to learn new technical concepts
Salary:
£9,609.60 – £13,631.80 per annum
Working week:
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
