IT Service Desk Technician / 1st Line Support

Salary Details: £26,000per year

Our client, a leading book manufacturer, now has an opportunity for a practical and motivated Service Desk Technician to join their Support Team in Bungay, Suffolk and provide first line technical support to customers via email, telephone and in person.

They are looking for an IT Service Desk Technician with a relevant IT qualification and with experience in a similar helpdesk environment, ideally within the manufacturing industry. You will regularly be required to carry out IT fixes in the manufacturing environment so the role also contains an element of practical hands-on work and is not entirely office-based.

You will be taking calls from users with little or no IT knowledge so you must be a confident and effective communicator in both verbal and written forms, allowing you to communicate technical information to non-technical users and manage relationships with all levels of staff. It is essential that you have excellent customer facing skills, are able to plan and prioritise an ever changing workload and approach your working hours in a flexible manner to accommodate operational requirements.
