The Client

My client is a well established leader in sports and leisure equipment and sports team wear / apparel sector. They are driven by the passion of the sports industry and are committed to helping children and young people achieve and maintain a safe, healthy and active lifestyle.

International sales growth across Europe and the Middle East is a high priority for the company and a key strategic initiative over the next three years.

With a growing presence already in these export markets they are looking to recruit an International Business Development Manager (IBDM) for Europe and the Middle East. The purpose of this role is to establish and then develop year ­on ­year sales growth for sports equipment supply across these international markets. If you have a background in sports and a natural interest in all things healthy then this 60 person team could be the right fit for you.

The Role

The successful International Business Development Manager’s responsibilities will include:

* International travel across Europe and / or Middle East
* Meeting and negotiating with clients
* Generating new business sales and managing accounts
* Cost agreements and sales increases
* Successful forecasting and budget management
* Working with and building strong relationships with internal teams

Skills & Experience Required:

Experience of working in sales roles undertaking both direct sales as well as undertaking joint selling with distributor channels to develop VARs is essential. A background in teaching and/or in a sporting goods sales environment would be extremely advantageous as many of the companies established clients are schools, colleges and universities. Having a natural knowledge of the market through your own sporting activities will give you place at the top of the shortlist.

A track record of successful selling into international (Europe and / or the Middle East) markets is essential with a history of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Benefits/package

For this International Business Development Manager role (home based with travel regularly to the West Midlands and to Europe and the Middle East) you can expect the following package:

£40-45k Base(experience dependent), commission (uncapped), expenses budget, laptop, mobile phone & home broadband.
