Salary: £1.2 per hour

Our Client is a subsidiary of a leading global provider of design, engineering, program management, construction management, and operations and maintenance support. They provide facilities management support to the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai, Egypt.
They are currently seeking an Interim Project Maintenance Supervisor be based at the South Camp located in the south of the Sinai Peninsula in Sharm El Sheikh. This is a 12 month contract position initially with excellent prospects of renewing again.
Reporting into the Facilities Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supervising subcontract turnkey projects, such as an Air Terminal Hanger and Clam Shelters, construction of a new Force Operating Control building, the Procurement facility, and an extension to the Vehicle Maintenance facility with an emphasis on carpentry and masonry operations.
You will supervise a multidiscipline project installation team consisting of HVAC, Carpentry/Mason, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding and Painting trades and general Labourers. You will ensure the operations under your responsibility are carried out in strict accordance with the Company and the end client’s current safety rules and operating procedures; also in accordance with standard industry practice, thereby guaranteeing the quality of operations within your field, carried out on site.
You will also be responsible for guaranteeing a good level of availability of the equipment or special tooling responsible for construction and installation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing maintenance operations which are placed under your responsibility.
You will report daily directly to the designated Supervisor/Manager and will ensure that the Company, Customer and Site Regulations and Policies are adhered to and respected, as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under your responsibility.
You will monitor and maintain equipment and special tooling placed under your responsibility to include upkeep of Company/Site vehicles.
You will keep a critical eye on the maintenance program and, if needed, suggest and makes improvements. It is expected that you will be in the field supervising the teams work a minimum of 85% of the time.
You will ensure that the members of your team have the qualifications and skills required for the task entrusted to them.
You will maintain accurate records of all work accomplished and will ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders.
You will order materials for service and repair jobs within framework of work orders.
You will ensure that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring to the Egyptian workforce occurs properly within your team, and actively supervise tasks being performed.
Finally you will train and direct subordinate Egyptian National staff in applicable areas of performance in accordance with Generally Accepted Industry and Professional Standards and the approved On-Job- Training Program.
Please note the job may require 24 hour “on call” duties to provide immediate customer support.

Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Maintenance Supervisor with experience of working in a service industry involving commercial and/or residential maintenance and have as your core skill – carpentry and masonry.
You should have an excellent knowledge of general heavy carpentry, structural shell, and masonry duties, to include fabrication, erection, maintenance, and repair of rigging devices, trusses, and other structural assemblies.
You should also have an excellent knowledge of basic to advance carpentry and masonry skills in performing general carpentry and masonry work, maintenance of buildings, structural repairs, framing and finishing work.
You should have knowledge of building layout; framing; sheathing; fabrication and roofing structures. Knowledge of the erection of rough timber structures. Knowledge needed to construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other similar products. Knowledge in the fitting and installing of doors, windows, frames, weather stripping, hardware, forms and scaffolding.
You should have knowledge in the repairs and renovates of all types of structures and erecting prefabricated buildings and in the construction of concrete form work for slabs, walls, and columns.
You must be able to use standard carpentry and masonry hand and power tools
You must be able to interpret construction drawings and blueprints to determine material and tools required to accomplish works from visual inspection and blueprints.
You will have the knowledge and ability to prepare building layouts and construct wooden or concrete foundation and erect building framework, able to install flooring, walls, partitions, siding, roofing, doors, windows, stairs, and interior finishing.
You should have the knowledge in the erecting prefabricating and pre-engineering of metal structures.
You will ensure that all safety instructions are complied with and ensure that all assigned tools, machinery and equipment are correctly maintained and used.
Your practical experience should be supported by a UK City & Guilds certification or equivalent in Carpentry and / or Masonry.
You will be experienced in quality inspections with excellent organization skills and capable of working in fast paced, changing priority work environment.
You will be results oriented and focused on outcome.
Good computer skills are a must; utilizing excel, word, outlook etc.
You must be able to maintain a “safety & quality first” attitude.
You should be a confident communicator with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach and train a team of Egyptian nationals. You will be flexible, possess initiative and able to pick things up quickly.
