Ink Performance Technician

We are currently seeking to recruit an Inkjet Performance Technician for our client based in Cambridge, for a 6 Month period. Working for a progressive and dynamic Technical Manufacturing Company who manufacture Piezoelectric Printheads for a wide range of industry sectors.

The purpose of this position is to gather data and support work on understanding of the inkjet process and requirements, operation, assessment and design of waveforms, printheads and test/ evaluation systems

Responsibilities will include:
• Performing experiments and run tests with inkjet printheads in a variety of test equipment
• Accurately record, summarise and report results
• Understand expected outcomes in order to know if outcomes are unexpected and suggest explanations
• Actively expand their knowledge of the inkjet process to enhance deliverables
• Characterise printhead performance in a number of ways and report results accordingly
• Develop a knowledge of the Inkjet process and the factors that affect printhead performance
• Gain an awareness of print performance
• Play an active role in the development of measurement systems

Skills and attributes:
• Either a higher education certificate within a relevant discipline such as Science, Maths or Engineering or relevant experience within a similar field
• Experience of working in a practical research and development environment
• Ideally experience within ink jet printing operation although not essential
• A diligent laboratory practitioner
• Keen attention to detail in practical work and reporting results
• Strongly motivated to understand how things work
• A willingness to be self-motivated and require minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate results to a wide audience
