Infrastructure Engineer (Nagios)

Infrastructure Engineer (Nagios, SCCM, SCOM, VMWare) – Enhanced DBS Clearance

Syntax Consultancy have a requirement for an Infrastructure Engineer based in Central London.

All Applicants Must Hold An Enhanced CRB/DBS Taken Within The Last 3 Years And Be Able To Provide A Copy Of The Certificate! You will be required to undergo a new enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities:

– Proactive infrastructure and service maintenance for datacentres and external sites
– Problem management to reduce the number of major and minor incidents reported
– Work with the remote technical support teams, to assist with solution delivery and incident management.
– Coach and mentor members of staff to enhance the skills and knowledge within the team.
– Proactive backup and anti-virus maintenance (RedStor / third-party back up applications)
– Support and maintenance of patching (WSUS and SCCM)
– Follow approved procedures with regard to change control and documentation standards.
– Work with 3rd parties in the provision of contracted services.

Key skills and experience:

– A minimum of3-4 years` experience providing technical support
– In-depth knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 architecture and trouble-shooting.
– Must have experience of Infrastructure monitoring softwares, including Nagios and SCOM.
– Microsoft SCCM 2007/2012
– Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010
– Microsoft RDS
– Office 365 deployments and FIM integration
– Enterprise wireless solutions
– Backup technologies and methodology (RedStor / DPM / VEEAM / 3rd party software )
– VMWare and Hyper-V Infrastructure administration
– Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2008R2 / 2012
– Sophos and Forefront Threat Management Gateway/Protection
– MS Internet Information Server 6 onwards
– Enterprise monitoring technologies (OpsView, Nagios etc)
