As one of the largest and most successful further education colleges in Europe, our client provides education and training to a wide range of learners and clients across the City of Manchester and beyond. Their mission is to deliver a high quality, inclusive and comprehensive curriculum, in an accessible and flexible way.

They currently have an opportunity for a part time Guidance and Welfare Advisor in their Guidance and Welfare Service. This is a part time role to cover 22.2 hours per week.

This varied role requires you to deliver professional advice, guidance and support on a wide range of educational (FE, HE), student finance, benefits, immigration and welfare matters; supporting students and staff regarding students’ progression and careers, including into employment, further training or HE.

You will need to be able to deal sensitively, flexibly and with empathy to clients from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including those for whom English is not their first language.

Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of educational, occupational, student finance and welfare matters and their implications for clients are implicit to the role. Some knowledge of immigration issues would be advantageous.

You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and have a positive, flexible approach to your work. A post graduate Diploma in careers guidance (QCG) or a level 4 qualification in Guidance is essential.
