Improvement Engineer

Huddersfield

Salary Negotiable IRO £48,000PA

8am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs 8am-1:30pm Friday

Skillection are delighted to be working with their exclusive manufacturing client based in Huddersfield.

Due to growth and expansion our client are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to work as an Improvement Engineer within their organisation.

Reporting to the Process Support Team Leader the successful Improvement Engineer will work with management to identify new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance. Prioritising and delivering measurable results through a pragmatic hands-on approach.

Key Accountabilities

Evaluate and analyze current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements and implement any new KPI’s required.

Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance.

Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.

Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results.

Train and guide resources as needed.

Work with various teams to reduce process and business variations.

Assist Managers in management for capital projects.

Prepare KPI presentations for management monthly.

Review and update business procedures and documents based on project requirements.

To assist in maintaining premises and equipment on site.

To lead and take part in improvement activities.

To behave in a manner that is safe and that promotes good manufacturing practice

Necessary Requirements

Engineering Qualifications with proven working experience as a hands-on Improvement engineer.

Excellent communication skills.

Critical/logical thinking.

Excellent computer skills.

Analytical skills.

Creative thinking and excellent problem-solving skills

Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards

Ability to work with multiple discipline projects

Project management and supervision skills

Be able to work on own initiative

Work within a team

Decision making ability and leadership skills

Time management and organization skills

To understand all safety rules

To understand all quality rules

To be able to maintain equipment and premises

To implement and understand TPM and improvement processes

To liaise with visitors and contractors as necessary

Experience in maintaining equipment and premises

To work shifts or flexible working patterns when required

Support Technical resources

Desirable Requirements

• To take part in the Health and Safety Committee or other representation roles
