Immigration and Asylum Caseworker – Training Contract

Position: Immigration and Asylum Caseworker- with a view to a training contract
Location: East Midlands
Salary: £26,000per year

The Role:
As a Immigration and Asylum Caseworker your role would consist of but not limited to the following:
*Dealing with sensitive and hyper complex cases up to and representing unaccompanied asylum seeking children
*Be responsible for an active caseload involving a variety of immigration and asylum matters
*Providing technical advice to clients regarding asylum legislation
*Client liaison and providing step by step guidance accordingly
*Preparation of appeals up to and including Judicial Reviews

The Person:
The Immigration and Asylum Caseworker should fit in with the following criteria:
*Must be minimum Level 2 LSC accredited
*Have experience of dealing with both private and corporate immigration matters
*Be committed to the delivering a high quality, professional service is essential
*Degree level education with completion of the LPC is desirable
*Show a sensitive and considered approach when dealing with complex cases
*Experience working under a Legal Aid Agency contract is also advantageous
*To have experience of working within a Lexcel or similar accredited environment is highly advantageous
