Ict Technician

Salary: £15.6 – £18 per hour

Our client is the world leader in high accuracy laser cutting within the thin metal producing industry. They are recruiting a talented IT professional to join the software team, assisting in maintaining and developing our internal IT infrastructure across the business. The role will involve supporting the company’s ICT needs which will involve a variety of tasks from networking administration to assisting with in house software development.
Duties
* Network administration and maintenance
* Diagnosing and fixing hardware issues
* Assisting colleagues across different facilities
* Maintaining Cyber Security through identifying and installing software updates
* Maintaining current SQL Server databases and backups procedures
* Provide testing support
* Assist with Software Development through variety of tests, eg integration, user acceptance
* Report and classify bugs, utilising bug tracking software
* Become involved with the development of software solutions to support all areas of the business
* To undertake training programmes/activities as required for personal development
Candidate Requirements
* IT/Computing qualifications are preferable but not essential
* Experience with Microsoft operating systems, including installation and configuration
* Basic network administration experience
* Experience with computer and peripheral hardware servicing and basic repairs
* Knowledge and understanding of standard office software packages
* A willingness to assist in the development of software solutions for all areas of the business
* Basic programming and scripting experience
* Hardware problem solving and analysis
* Logical working approach
* Positive attitude
* Ability to perform under pressure
* Real interest in learning new technologies
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment, both taking direction from and supporting other colleagues
* Flexibility regarding working hours; on rare circumstances you may be required to start early or finish later than usual, e.g. performing firmware/software updates
