HR Operations / HR Assistant

Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager the HR Operations Manager/Assistant Manager is integral in maintaining and managing the successful day to day function of the Human Resources Department as well as being a competent and approachable advisor for all team and leaders across the business.

Key Responsibilities
• Creating an environment in which the business is confident and comfortable to use HR as a support function
• Support, coach and mentor the HR leaders and team to achieve their full potential every day
• Set clear objectives for the HR team, measure and update frequently to ensure the team is always clear about how well they are doing, and any actions requiring additional attention
• Legal Compliance (DBS, Police Checks, Proof of right to work, Safeguarding etc.)
• HR Audits
• Manage Team data (i.e. Absence, Retention, Head count, Training, Employee engagement) and make recommendations based on the findings
• HR Advisor
• HR Department Health & Safety Compliance
• Deputise for HR Manager as required
• Supporting the delivery of the HR budget

Required Experience, Qualifications& Personal Specification

• CIPD Qualified OR – proven experience of leading and advising within an HR environment with similar responsibilities
• Experience of effectively building relationships
• Expert and up to date knowledge of employment legislation and regulatory HR processes and the ability to translate this into practical solutions
• Expert written and oral communication skills
• Competent IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience of Financial planning and adhering to a set budget
• Appreciation of the need for structured work systems and a methodological approach
• Exceptional attention to detail
