Salary: £42,000 – £45,600per annum + excellent benefits

Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required

Objective of the Role

To provide clear, accurate HR and commercial advice through the management of employee relations issues and employee development to the Operations Department. The implementation of organisational strategy within the Operations area up to management level, ensuring a comprehensive and high quality service.

Main Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

• To proactively engage in all Employee Relations issues, ensuring that fair and cost effective solutions are provided at all times to aid the achievement of objectives.
• Advising Managers on appropriate strategies for managing employee issues in connection with any departmental change, business growth and restructuring exercises.
• Develop and monitor appropriate employee relations performance indicators, standards and HR working plans.
• Manage the interpretation of employment legislation to ensure harmonious working practices.
• To provide HR support including advice and attendance at meetings with managers and employees relating to employment issues including disciplinaries and grievances as and when required and in line with Company policies and procedures.
• To provide Counselling support to employees when required.
• Change Management
• Work with the relevant Director and Divisional Managers and advise on all HR aspects of Change Management
• Proactively engage in the facilitation of all types of Change Management initiatives including restructures, headcount reductions and TUPE processes
• Occupational Health/Absence
• Manage and monitor occupational health & sickness absence processes and activity.
• Ensure a proactive advisory and administrative service is provided to meet the business needs of the Company and the needs of individual employees.
• Employee Development
• Assist in the management of employee development throughout the Company.
• Work with managers to maintain ongoing training and development to ensure consistency of performance and the development of skills and knowledge to meet our business needs.

HR Policies and Procedures

• Contribute to policy and procedure development and review in response to organisational objectives, external pressures and standards of good practice.
• Monitor, review and update Company procedures to ensure compliance with employment legislation, keeping abreast of new employment legislation at all times.

Managing Diversity

• Ensure all employment activities are in accordance with appropriate equal opportunities legislation.
• Wherever possible continue to develop the awareness of managers and staff in relation to equal opportunities.
• Project Management
• Manage or assist with relevant ad-hoc projects as required by your Manager
• Provide advice and develop implementation plans to ensure that the outcome of projects meet Department/Company objectives.

General

• Complete all appropriate administration.
• Provide activity reports to your Manager on a monthly basis.
• To deliver workshops on a range of subjects covered by Human Resources.
• Carry out any other additional duties as requested by your Manager from time to time within the scope of your role.

Quality Standards

• Ensure systems and procedures are in place for all activity and fall within the guidelines of the relevant legislation.
• Investigate and respond to relevant issues highlighted by any employee.
• Assess and review standards and implement corrective actions where required.

Cost Management

• To monitor relevant expenditure and where necessary, review practices to ensure costs are controlled and that HR activity contributes to the overall profitability of the Company.

Suitable candidates:

• Part or fully CIPD Qualified
• Fully conversant with current employment legislation
• Proven evidence of HR generalist experience within a commercial environment
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage various workloads whilst working to strict timescales
• A good working knowledge of Word and Excel
• Experience of working with a computerised HR system
• Ability to run Training Workshops
• Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
• Self-motivated with a meticulous confident approach to work duties
• Must be prepared to travel to locations across the UK when required (including on occasion, overnight stays)
