HR Business Analyst / Junior Project Manager
London based Council
You will be working as Business Analyst / Junior Project Manager within the HR and Payroll System Implementation team.
You will be responsible for:
Business Analysis tasks:
* Identify key issues / process improvements.
* Identify gaps between current state and future state business process.
* Work with Process owner, 3rd parties (Vendor), participants and technical resources to identify opportunities for productivity improvements in workflows and procedures.
* Work with Process owner, participants and technical resources to obtain sign off on changes.
* Serve as a key liaison with third parties [vendors] and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll).
* Contribute ideas and solutions to Project teams to enhance deliverables
* Effectively uses a variety of elicitation techniques to accurately elicit out requirements; forms and asks probing questions.
Project Management:
* Experience in project management and be able to carry out project management activities.
* Deputise for the project manager when needed.
* Experience of preparing PID’s for similar HRIS projects.
Data collection and documentation
* Identify and interview key individuals to gather needed details and direction.
* Maintain and cultivate relations with key customer contacts
* To identify the process customers, their requirements of the process, process objectives and process flow.
* Drive sessions with Business Process Owners and process participants to identify and document business processes using an approach and methodology consistent with process improvement / process analysis.
* Analyse, collect and specify reporting requirements from the business and ensure these are the documented for the report developer.
* Captures meeting / collaboration input during workshops and organizes and maintains the output from the sessions including follow-up actions items, business decisions, issues, questions, and potential process improvement changes.
* Document new or revised procedures or workflows and communicate them effectively to Business Process Lead.
* Write business requirements and obtain signoff from process owner.
* Work with technical resources to create system requirements and configuration e.g. interfaces
* Work with process owner and technical resource to address any gaps between the business requirements and functionality.
* Oversee documentation of new or revised procedures or workflows.
* Document business and technical requirements
* Work with 3rd parties (Vendor) to ensure technical solution meet business requirements.
Qualifications and experience:
* Experience in HR or technical related area such as business or systems analysis.
* Knowledge of HR functions and business processes (Payroll, HR, Employee and Manager self-service Learning etc.).
* Detail oriented with excellent analytical, problem solving, pragmatism and organization skills
* Strong business analysis skills
* Strong personal networking skills with the ability to relate to Senior Management and employees through all organizational levels
* Independent worker and definite self-starter
* Experience in large size companies with multiple functions / business units is a plus.
* Experience working on similar projects within Local Authorities a plus.
* Good knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC), including proven experience in implementing HR software applications.
* Understanding of HR systems such as Midland HR, Northgate a plus
* Demonstrated history of significant customer deliverables, building rapport, and influencing decisions working in a consultative role with customers.
* Ability to communicate with various audiences, including end users, managers, and business Stakeholders
* Good Stakeholder management experience
