Our client is the leading distributor of non food consumables to the hospitality and catering sectors in the UK. They have an extensive range of own label and branded products to suit the requirements of all budgets. As part of a global, FTSE 100 outsourcing distribution group, our client is able to draw on this global expertise in product sourcing.

They now have an exciting opportunity available for a HR Advisor to join them on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Working across all of the catering and hospitality sectors, the HR Advisor will be responsible for providing a generalist day-to-day operational HR service to all employees and managers.

Working with the Management team to drive the people strategy, you will provide assistance to line managers in managing absence, change management, handling disciplinary issues and grievances up to and including dismissal.

Ensuring professional recruitment practices are in place and used by line managers, the HR Advisor will advise managers on appropriate induction training for all new employees and identify and co-ordinate any training / workshops they may need to assist in handling HR issues and general management. You must ensure all people processes such as appraisals and pay reviews are carried out appropriately and provide advice and guidance as required.

CIPD qualified, the successful candidate will have previous HR experience ideally gained within a warehousing / distribution business coupled with vast experience of handling HR issues at all levels. Highly numerate and IT literate, you will have extensive knowledge of training and development practices, recent knowledge of UK employment legislation along with working knowledge of a HR database and reporting system. In addition, candidates must have multi-site experience.
