Salary: £26,000 per year
Oldham school requires a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support Year 5
– Deliver intervention groups in the mornings in core subjects and cover PPA sessions several afternoons a week.
– Support across both year 5 classes covering a maternity position starting the October half term holiday 9th November.
– Continuous training opportunities delivered through twilight sessions and whole school training days.
A school in Oldham, graded good by Ofsted, require an experienced HLTA to support the year 5 cohort. The role will involve delivering interventions to specific groups of children with identified gaps in attainment and feeding back to the class teachers to ensure pupil progress. The 2 year 5 classes require a Higher Level teaching Assistant to deliver specific maths and English interventions to groups of pupil. Both classes have a variety of abilities in the school from Lvl 2a – Lvl 4b (17-27 APS). There is a group of EAL speakers with a variety of languages, 1 Romanian pupil 3 Urdu speakers and a polish speaker. A knowledge in any of these languages would be a benefit but definitely not a requirement to apply for the post.
The school has several Higher Level Teaching Assistants who cover PPA across KS1 and KS2 so support would be available with delivering and assessing children.
