High Voltage – SAP

Our client is one of the leading owner/operators of offshore wind farms in the UK. They are looking to appoint a High Voltage SAP to be responsible for performing a variety of operation and maintenance activities on offshore wind turbines.

The Role

Responsible for the coordination of inter-system operational and safety procedures with National Grid
Certify competent persons to operate on offshore wind farms.
Controlling and switching the high voltage network
Prepare, approve and following switching schedules for the high-voltage network
Write, issue and cancel high-voltage safety documents
Carry out maintenance of equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Act as site supervisor for contractors and working parties under your control.

The Requirements

You will have a relevant educational background, for example an electrical and electronic engineering degree or equivalent. Furthermore, you will have technical knowledge of wind farm layout and experience with high-voltage troubleshooting and analysis.
You will be a Senior Authorised Person at 36kV or preferably at 400/275/150kV and have extensive working experience as Senior Authorised Person operating under company high-voltage safety rules. Ideally, you will have experience as a Senior Authorised Person with a Distribution Network Operator.
Additionally, you can draw on electrical working experience from a position in a relevant industry, preferably within the offshore wind industry.
You will speak and write English fluently and be able to communicate successfully with your colleagues and business partners.
You will have a full driving license and have an aptitude for working at heights and offshore
It is essential that you have excellent planning and reporting skills as well as people management skills.
