We are looking to recruit a Heat Networks Manager.

In December 2021, BEIS published its response to the 2020 Heat Network Market Framework consultation and confirmed that Ofgem will become the new regulator in line with the gas and electricity markets. This is expected to be enacted with a transition period from late 2023.

In advance of this major change to the sector, Hyde is seeking to optimise its existing heat networks to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. As part of our approach to reaching net zero carbon by 2050, we will produce decarbonisation plans for our blocks and communal spaces, looking at optimising the plant room and the heat distribution system for each scheme. It is expected that funding bids will be made in 2023 for improving the energy efficiency of our heat networks through the Government’s HNES grant programme.

The Heat Networks Manager will take a leading role in driving this agenda forward as the transition to net zero carbon continues.

Duties of a Heat Networks Manager:

  • Lead on the management of Hyde’s heat networks
  • Optimising the operational efficiency of contract management
  • Implement strategies to increase the energy efficiency of Hyde’s heat networks
  • Ensure that Hyde is compliant with the Heat Metering Regulations
  • Oversee the performance monitoring of energy use, affordability and KPIs
  • Provide technical and practical advice
  • Budget management for Community Energy

Candidates will need to demonstrate strong experience and knowledge of how heat networks operate in relation to sustainability.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible travelling to Hyde sites throughout London and the South East.

We offer a great flexible benefits package, a 35-hour working week, a fantastic pension scheme and the opportunity to work for an organisation whose social purpose is to help provide people with a home.

Diversity and inclusion are integral to the Hyde Group as a social business, and critical in delivering our vision of a great home for everyone. We strive to build and nurture a culture where inclusivity is the norm and not an initiative. Many of the greatest ideas and discoveries come from a diverse mix of minds, backgrounds and experiences, and we’re committed to cultivating an inclusive workplace which reflects our customer profile and where everyone is proud to be unique.
