Salary: £45,600 – £50,400 per year
We are seeking a Health & Safety professional to join our team of in-house experts who provide advice and guidance across the Severn Trent brand. The role holder will operate within Severn Trent Services () who are a key member of the Severn Trent PLC group of companies and provide water management solutions to commercial and industrial high volume water users ranging from Operations & Maintenance and Water Hygiene through to Design & Build and Water Treatment Services. The STS group aim to develop services to our customers which minimise cost, reduce water consumption, ensures business continuity and manage risk and compliance.
About the role:
Working strategically across the business, the Advisor will ensure that the H&S programme has direct line of sight to STW’s Health, Safety and wellbeing strategy and culture and will ensure compliance in line with Company standards, the Business Strategy and industry best practice.
Establish formal communication routes with MOD, STS, and Services UK and ensure two way communications. In addition, proactively determine and implement timely communication with all staff, sub-contractors, existing and new clients secured through STS Operations UK’s Growth Strategy.
You will monitor and interpret Health & Safety performance data within the area to identify and implement future improvement projects – working with, and challenging, senior managers to influence the implementation of safety improvement plans.
The role holder will play a key part in implementing a sustainable training record and management systems (ISO 18001) to ensure all individuals, teams and managers know the competence levels against HS&W standards to get the very best performance.
About you:
We are seeking candidates who hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety and additional qualifications such as a Health and Safety Degree with Chartered Membership of IOSH (or evidence of working towards this) and recorded evidence of other technical training (i.e. accident investigation).
You will have a proven track record in instigation, control and delivery of Health and Safety Projects with a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation, Health and Safety theory and best practice along with Occupational Health’ and its implementation within the workplace.
It is essential that you have the ability to lead, develop and motivate your direct reports and positively engage with colleagues, managers and their teams and bring them on-side by influencing and negotiating at all levels.
