Salary: £102,000 per year

Head of Projects – London – to £85k plus bonus and package

A very successful Facilities Management Service provider is urgently seeking Head of Projects to help further their growth. You must have a track record in M&E upgrades, building fabric refurbishments, commercial fits outs etc. along with great project management skills. This is a superb opportunity to take a division by the scruff of its neck and shape it your way. My client offers a great environment to work in and your career path is exciting. We are not looking for a pure construction Project Manager rather someone who understands the commercial refurb and fit-out market.

Job Summary
To assume overall responsibility for the generation and delivery of a diverse range of projects including M&E upgrades, building fabric refurbishment and commercial fit outs within both existing client portfolios and external third-party customers. Liaising with our clients and customers, to provide a high-quality Project Management service within the defined commercial and contractual expectations of the Company.

General Duties:
• Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities
• Identify and win projects through effective relationships and create a pipeline of opportunities
• Develop and manage all bids, tenders and proposals
• Ensure projects are secured and delivered on time and within the financial requirements and margins specified by the business
• Ensure that all projects adhere and are managed to commercial agreements / contracts, comply with statutory regulations, are SHEQ compliant and meet technical industry standards
• Lead teams in the safe delivery of projects and identify, reduce and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise)
• Sub-contractor selection and management
• Financial responsibility for the delivery of the annual projects plan, management of the monthly P&L and ensuring all costs are fully accountable and recoverable
• Production of required financial and management reports
• Recruit and retain talent for the present delivery and future growth of projects
• Attend strategy meetings with Operations Department colleagues
• Efficiently collaborate with other functional areas of the business, modifying processes to address identified risks
• Own the Project Bid Process in accordance with the company’s Integrated Management System, Procedures and Processes, inclusive of but not limited to:
o Completing an analysis of the Specification
o Completing the Commercial & Bid analysis & Risk profile for each Project
o Creating the Estimate and shaping and proposing innovative cost models
o Obtaining and validating subcontractor and supplier quotes while developing relationships to obtain best price and delivery standards
o Preparing for and arranging the tender adjudication meetings
o Providing direct Project Management
o Liaising with Operational Delivery teams to ensure Capex opportunities are quoted from Forward Maintenance Registers
o Ensuring CDM regulations are adhered too by all
o Creating and Populating Phase Construction Plans
o Providing monthly report to Operations Director

Knowledge
• Knowledge of the construction and M&E market
• Project management methodology
• Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
Experience
• Proven project management experience in either an M&E, FM, construction or critical environment
• Experience of developing new project opportunities
• Proven experience of running a P&L
• Demonstrable evidence of having managed a team
• Experience of creating, presenting and managing on bids, tenders and proposals
