Head of Finance

Salary: £84,000 – £90,000 per year

My client is a highly regarded company in a niche field, based in Mayfair.

The Head of Finance is a very hands-on role with day to day involvement in transaction processing, exercising controls and problem resolution together with month end accounts preparation and year end audit responsibility.

They will consider a part time role 3 or 4 days a week..

* Holiday entitlement is 25 days pa plus public holidays.

* 15% employer pension contributions

JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate will report to the Directors as a Head of Finance. The role includes responsibility for all Finance, Human Resources and Administration functions.

Daily Duties include:

* To prepare monthly management accounts and weekly free cash report.

* To prepare year end management accounts for submission to auditors.

* To co-ordinate the audit process, responding the audit enquiries, agreeing the financial statements to the underlying records and delivering audited accounts to Companies House.

* To manage the corporation tax position with our tax advisers.

* To process the payroll (four weekly) and reflect all changes from period to period.

* To manage, supervise and support the accounting function, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and controls are effectively operated.

* To run month end reports, agree control totals and perform month end closure for all ledgers.

* To prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, settle liabilities and respond to any queries.

* To maintain all personnel records and systems, ensuring legal compliance.

* To manage and maintain all insurance policies, renewing annually and dealing with claims.

* To manage the London premises including liaison with the landlord’s agent.

* To manage all banking arrangements, purchase and sell currencies and execute payments.

* To manage the company pension scheme and life assurance policies.

* To support the import/export manager and two porters.
