Head of Data Science & Analytics – Remote with Travel

Salary: £120,000 – £144,000 per year

Head of Data Science and Analytics.
Work from where you want, with occasional travel to London or Bristol.

After 6 months of planning this company are excited to start building out their data team from scratch!
They are a very exciting FinTech business with 2 UK locations, now 200 employees and plans to double in 2021!

Their CDO has been mapping out their data strategy over the last couple of months and we are supporting them in hiring this new team. We are starting with the management team where we are looking for a Head of Data Science and Analytics to come on board.

This role will see you building a team of 6 to 8 folk, with a complete blank canvas, recruiting top Data Scientists and analysts, working with road-mapping technology and designing state-of-the-art systems. Ultimately, this will be an autonomous role in which you have the freedom to truly shape the future of Data in the organisation with the opportunity to process to a director level position.

I am looking for someone who pushes boundaries, isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo, who is obsessed by what data can do and the future of it!

I’m ideally looking for someone who has a solid understanding of the tools used in data science and analytics, like Python, SQL, Scala, Databricks, PowerBI for example.
Also some familiarity with Machine Learning too. Whilst this isn’t a ‘hands on’ role we need someone with the ability to lead and mentor a team who will be using such technologies.

Covid update * They are remote first until further notice. As mentioned their are 2 UK offices and you’d chose one location as ”home” however working in the office will be minimal but expect a couple of times a months for meetings, more if you would like and then again depending on what happens with the world.
