Salary: £96,000 – £108,000 per year
Head of Commercial
* Role: Head of Commercial – No1 in team
* Reporting to: Operations Director
* Geographical region: South West – Avon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire
* Working arrangements: This is a roaming role there will be a mix of office and home working, but we have offices in Lichfield, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury, and Chipping Sodbury
Head of Commercial – About you?
* Construction related qualification, preferably at degree level.
* Proven experience, of managing & delivering commercial performance for residential housing programmes or main contractors
* Has in depth knowledge of new build residential development and building techniques
* Detailed knowledge and appreciation of development appraisals and viability
* Previous experience of full P&L Accountability and risk management.
* A good knowledge of Contractual agreements and hierarchy around risk.
* IT literate with an understanding of software such as COINS and strong capability using MS packages.
* An eye for detail and the ability to understand the overall view of New Homes
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to translate complex information into practical understanding to drive decision making.
* Understanding of health and safety and all health and safety legislation applicable to us
* Experience of Implementing change and experience of developing policies
* Strong analytical, numerical, communication and negotiating skills
* Strong team building and leadership experience, with a proven track record in performance management
* Excellent customer service and will be a great ambassador for our company
Head of Commercial – About the role?
* We have an exciting and progressive Head of Commercial opportunity within the new homes team at, for someone to support and influence the ambitious growth of our internal delivery capability.
* This is a varied and exciting role, which will form part of a new leadership structure within the new homes team; there will be a real opportunity to help shape the team and achieve our ambitious plans.
* You will be leading, managing, planning, and overseeing the delivery of all commercial related activities on all in-house construction developments from viability through to final account and adoptions. You will be managing a budget of in excess of £30m (2022/2023 financial year).
* You will be in a current executive or senior commercial position with expertise in managing & delivering commercial performance for residential housing programmes or main contracting organisations.
* You will be responsible for the P&L and risk profile of the new home profile, ensuring performance to budget whilst maintaining robust risk mitigation measures.
