A Start-up Consultancy in Egham/Staines are looking for fresh grads to junior level Software Development Consultants to join their team of experienced Developers and Consultants.

Company: Experts in providing strategic consultancy and developing high quality tailored IT systems and solutions; working with large and small organisations across a variety of industry sectors with a core focus in the telecoms sector. Due to an increasing number of client projects the company are hiring a number of Associate Consultants to expand their 20-strong team in Egham / Staines.

You will initially work alongside more experienced software engineers and consultants, building your experience of the development approach and of clients’ systems, ultimately becoming responsible for a variety of tasks including:
• Working as part of a team effort to deliver quality solutions
• Designing and implementing software modules and components as well as thoroughly testing to ensure their quality
• Close professional collaboration with clients to ensure that you thoroughly understand what’s best for their business needs
• Taking responsibility across the Software Development Lifecycle, from requirements gathering through to integration and customer acceptance
• Preparing and assisting with the creation of software documentation including user guides, release notes and specifications.
• Contribute to improvements in our practice (products, processes, tools)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS or EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this position you will have:
• A University qualification at degree level with experience of developing and testing software
• Good knowledge of the Java programming language. Or good knowledge of other languages and a willingness to convert.
• Fluent written and spoken English
• A proven record of quickly learning new subjects, skills or programming languages
You will be:
• An analytical problem solver
• Self-motivated, with an enthusiasm to deliver your best and the organisation to plan your tasks effectively
• A clear communicator, both verbally and in written form adept at sharing information and participating in team meetings
• Someone that works well in a team and individually
• Willing to travel on occasion, generally within Europe

DESIRABLE SKILLS or EXPERIENCE
• Software development and testing within a commercial environment
• Experience within the Telecommunications industry
• A 2:1 degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
• Knowledge of JBoss, Postgres, Spring Web Flow, Javascript, JQuery, JMS, GIT
