We provide housing and Care & Support services to a huge range of customers, including many who find themselves experiencing incredible hardship and challenge. Even before the pandemic we were seeing an increase in needs, and a decrease in the support infrastructure around our most vulnerable customers; and now 2020 has brought its own, huge challenges. Continued outbreaks and waves of covid-19, jobs disappearing, education disrupted, recession, and Brexit just over the horizon have shifted things almost beyond recognition for many people already, and we know the next few years will be exceptionally challenging.

This makes the support we provide to our customers, and the way in which we flex and respond as an organisation, more important than ever. And in some cases, this means we must make some big changes to stay focussed on our vision.

This Role

We’re looking for someone new or early in their career in public service delivery to come and join us as an Operations Analyst. You’ll work directly with our Director of Service Development on key projects to support the Customer Services Directorate – the teams who deliver and manage all of our frontline housing and Care & Support services.

The role profile will give you an idea of what you might be doing, but to give you a flavour of a few of the projects you might be working on…

– We’re designing and introducing a new CRM system for all of our housing operations, allowing colleagues to move away from clunky legacy systems, and have much greater visibility of our work with customers.

– We’re changing the way that our frontline housing teams work, introducing new approaches to service delivery and all the support services that this needs. This will be a big project, and make a huge impact. As part of this, in the Service Development team, we’re significantly expanding our work and will be growing much of our work around areas of additional need, whether ASB, domestic abuse, food poverty, modern day slavery, or anything else.

– As part of our response to Covid-19, we’re working with our Care & Support services and the NHS Test & Trace teams to roll out Covid testing for entire care services. This pilot programme will help shape strategy for the long-term approach to testing in the sector.

We are working from home for now, but once things are back to normal you can be based in either Farringdon, London or Beeston, Nottingham. Roles based in Nottingham will be on £23,000, and those in London on £26,000.

What you’ll need to succeed

Whatever you’re working on, you’ll need to get stuck in to learning about what we do, the particular issue we’re tackling, and be proactive in finding your role within that.

The role profile describes the personal competencies we’re looking for and lists some of the skills and experience you might have. When we are shortlisting, we’ll look for evidence of all the personal competencies, and as many of the skills as possible – we don’t expect you to have everything!

This role would be well suited for a recent graduate, or someone who has been working in frontline roles in the sector for several years and interested in trying something different.

When you start, we’ll look at what training is going to be most helpful for you, depending on your existing skills, background, and goals. Our corporate training programme is made up of classroom and workshop sessions, and online learning available 24/7. You’ll also be matched with another colleague who will act as a mentor during your time with us.
