Geo-Environmental Engineer

My client, a multidisciplinary Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Consultancy are searching for a Geo-Environmental Consultant to join their expanding team in Sheffield to work on a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

This exciting role will offer candidates the chance to join a growing team, taking part in varied geotechnical and geo-environmental projects. You will be responsible for supervising fieldwork, logging rock and soils to technical standards and managing a range of projects autonomously.

As a Geo-Environmental Consultant you will be responsible for supervising Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 site investigations, and designing remediation strategies. You will be writing factual and interpretive geo-environmental reports and also supporting more junior members of the team.

It is essential that candidates have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline including a BSc and/or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Physical Geography and Geology including modules in Environmental Science or Soil Mechanics.

Candidates should also have 3+ years’ experience working for a UK based Consultancy where you have worked on a variety of geotechnical projects including land remediation and large scale earthworks. You will have completed Phase 1 and 2 ground investigations and also designed remediation strategies. Candidates must be able to log soil to technical standards and complete interpretive reports alone.
