General Manager – Production / Manufacturing

Salary: £40.8 per hour

We are recruiting a General Manager of Production and Manufacturing, to work with our manufacturing client based in Ashford Kent.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to enhance their Production and Manufacturing facilities with a combination of strategic initiatives. Firstly, the introduction of a new ERP/MRP system to replace our existing IMS, and secondly yet in tandem, a transition from manual to automated manufacturing processes through time in motion comparisons and agreed on capex expenditure to facilitate the plan. This has led them to a need for strengthening their managerial structure and leadership and evolve the business into a new methodology of manufacturing techniques, aligned with technological advances in machinery.

I have specifically not mentioned the industry the company operates in, as the focus for this role is on change and progressing the company. However, the product range sits within the fabrication and structural engineering for commercial and domestic properties and will be fully trained on.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual who has career stability, with proven ability to implement change management and efficiencies, understand manual to mechanical transition, be fully conversant in ERP/MRP, and how VA and VE initiatives can enhance efficiency.

The successful applicant will assume control of the factory environment reporting directly to the Operational Director and Group Managing Director. The person will also need to be familiar with Quality Standards, Procedures, and Conformances, which are adhered to and manufactured to, retaining the company’s product accreditations.
