Salary: £54,000 – £60,000 per year

We are seeking a dynamic site/depot manager to take full control of a major bulk storage and distribution site ensuring optimum levels of supply chain and service delivery.
In short you will input robust practises to meet company KPI’s and to lead the entire operations from the Site Operations Manager through to implementation of best practises and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
To organise and control the resources allocated for the entire site in order that the Company’s budgeted financial objectives/plans are achieved, whist providing satisfactory service to Customers/Suppliers, and adhering to all compliance issues.
To be responsible for the management of the Ipswich/Harwich facilities locations in order to achieve high levels of efficiency, so that business and financial objectives are achieved.
To be responsible for allocated manpower resources, including communication, recruitment, dismissal, appraisal, training, wage structure ensuring good industrial relations and compliance with employment legislation.
To provide a high level of customer service and effectively promote the company facilities so as to generate new business and protect existing business.
To keep abreast of developments within the warehousing industries so that the Company can take advantage of commercial opportunities as they may occur.
To develop effective relationships with all the stakeholders of the business so that results are achieved at optimum levels.
To be responsible for the effective and accurate intake, sampling and analysis of all commodities and to ensure that they are moved through the Terminals using best industry and commercial practices.
To maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness and to ensure that all commodities are stored and handled in such a way to minimise deterioration.
To be responsible for the effective upkeep and maintenance of land, buildings, IT, plant and machinery under your control.
To be responsible for the effective implementation of the Company’s Quality Systems and to ensure compliance with Industry Codes of Practice, including TASCC, GAFTA, OFF, and other associated legislation/regulations.
To maintain a clear understanding of the requirements of the Health & Safety At Work Act. To be responsible for the implementation of the Act and for achieving the highest standards of Health & Safety possible within the operations under your control. In conjunction with the Company Compliance Officer to train and advise subordinate staff
in all aspects of Health & Safety. To organise and attend regular Health & Safety/operations meetings.
To assist the Finance Director and Operations Director with the preparation of an annual budget, to achieve the strategic objectives of the business.
In conjunction with the Operations Director to recommend and be involved in the preparation of capital expenditure projects and to effectively supervise any civil and plant engineering works.
To purchase at best cost all goods/services from approved suppliers and control this expenditure within budgeted cost.
