We are currently seeking a Functional Configuration Administrator to provide functional configuration administrative services to the Digitisation Teams. Using expert knowledge of the software to configure the system and troubleshoot any issues that arise with the usability of the software.

Location – Reading area. (Due to the nature of this role you will be required to work on-site each day)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Using the guidance sheets provided by the SME’s in the business, configure the keyword metadata fields for use in the digitisation process.
  • Having a comprehensive understanding of the software to configure all document types, scan queues, media types and additional requirements as set out by the digitisation management team.
  • Managing workflows to ensure accurate export and import of data and using expert knowledge to troubleshoot workflow queues.
  • Providing functional administration services to the Site A and B Digitisation teams by understanding requirements for both digitisation processes and how the configuration is carried out for each site.
  • Monitoring both the pre-production and production environments to ensure consistency and ensure all changes are documented.
  • Acting as primary point for liaison with the IS Systems Administration team for migration between the Pre-production and production systems.
  • Monitoring imports from and exports to external systems, understanding the impacts on the software and business processes.
  • Assisting with the resolution of software issues, by using extensive knowledge of the user side of the software to understand the issues and the impacts of configuration changes on the digitisation process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using a comprehensive knowledge of the user side of the software specifying software configuration changes.
  • Update of configuration on the pre-production.
  • Generating migration documentation for configuration changes for implementation by IS systems administration, ensuring that changes are accurately.
  • Testing of new functionality requirements using expert knowledge of the digitisation process within the software.
  • Managing workflows and work view queues.
  • Assist the Digitisation Supervisors with generating reports.
  • Scheduling the support for Site A and B facilities by using knowledge of both digitisation processes.
  • Responsible for requesting support from IS systems/desktop teams.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting software issues, ensuring their successful resolution or escalating as appropriate.
  • Monitoring and providing support with the migration of information to and from external systems.
  • Writing procedures and work instructions.
  • Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management.
  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience within a Commercial environment ideally as an Administrator or Receptionist
  • Strong PC Literacy including Word
  • Be a motivated, self-starter who is able to work under their own initiative
  • Great attention to detail
  • The ability to follow detailed work instructions and support the development, review and update of these process documents
  • The ability to focus throughout lengthy and sometimes repetitive tasks
  • To be motivated and passionate to deliver high quality results
  • Strong organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to tasks
