Salary: £30,000 – £33,600 per year
Our client are a fast-growing strategic marketing company based in Gateshead who are looking to add a Full Stack Web Developer (PHP) to their growing Digital Development Team.
As a Full Stack Web Developer (PHP), you will work as part of a SCRUM team alongside an Account Manager, Designer, Trainee Developer (for whom you have some management responsibility) and marketing team, typically comprising Digital Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Executive and a Digital Marketing Assistant. Your role will primarily require you to take design flats and functional specifications from your team and work to create high quality, standards-compliant code using MVC development models and up-to-date, primarily open-source software.
We’re looking for an experienced, passionate and driven PHP Web Developer, a technically-minded individual with a desire to expand your current knowledge and skill set within back and front end technologies. You should have an excellent understanding of PHP5, MySQL, OOP and MVC, a knowledge and ability to create HTML5 / CSS3 cross-compatible, standards-compliant responsive applications and to maintain or improve the current portfolio of client work. An exposure to SilverStripe, WordPress, Magento, Kohana or Laravel would be very much advantageous.
It is vitally important you are a self-starter and have a keen interest in discovering and proposing new technologies and frameworks.

We are looking for someone with:
– Exceptional knowledge of PHP5 and MySQL
– An excellent understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript & jQuery
– A strong knowledge of the Unix command line
– An excellent understanding of MVC, CMS and eCommerce frameworks such as SilverStripe, WordPress, Magento, Kohana or Laravel
– Understanding of the importance of responsive website design
– Comfortable with version control and GIT
– A good understanding of Agile methodology and development
– Experience in CakePHP and Lemonstand would be a bonus
