Freight Forwarder (Import-Export)

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year

Our client a long-established and global logistics provider is looking to expand their team in their Felixstowe office. They offer a variety of shipping and transport solutions to clients and are investing not only in the latest technology but also in their staff, offering career progression to those who want it. They are currently looking for candidates who have an all-around, multi-modal experience, ideally in both imports and exports.
What our client is looking for:
* Previous experience within a freight forwarding environment, ideally multi-modal (air, sea, and road) is essential.
* Strong customer service skills and ability to negotiate with suppliers.
* A confident self-starter work can independently, or as part of a team when required.
* Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, busy environment and passionate about providing an exemplary level of service to clients.
* Able to cope under pressure and be positive in challenging situations.
What the role entails:
* Communicating with clients and suppliers daily by telephone and email and ensuring that strong business relationships are built and maintained.
* Negotiate best rates to maximise profits and provide the best cost-effective solutions for clients.
* Chasing and preparing relevant shipping documents for customs clearance purposes.
* Arranging the shipping, transport, and courier of goods by various modes of transport within the company and legislative guidelines and ensuring this meets the clients’ requirements.
